Oscar Goodman, former Las Vegas mayor and mob lawyer, calls critics of Mob Museum "monkeys"

And monkeys wasn't the only thing Goodman called critics of wasting tax dollars to build a shrine to the mob.

The Mob Museum cost federal, state and local taxpayers $42 million and was labeled as one of five most ridiculous government-funded "tourist traps" by the Taxpayer Protection Association. The museum opened yesterday.

Video is from NPRI's Nevada Journal.

Charleston Neighborhood Preservation spoke against this item each time it was on the City of Las Vegas City Council agenda!
Each time we submitted our written comments Plus our specific questions regarding these actions.
NEVER DID A REPORTER approach us for comment or for a copy of our submitted statements!
NEVER DID ANYONE ELSE approach the dias on this expenditure of our monies!
After the money is stolen & spent, is the cowards time to speak!
The "meetings" the former mayor mentioned were required to document 'need' for the monies for this project and the legal approach to acquire the taxpayer's $.
Charleston Neighborhood Preservation did attend meetings responding to the sleight of hand deceptions and outright lies of the "Monorail", the 'Springs Preserve', etc, etc.
Next month wewill see the brave and stalwart reports regarding the Beheading of "we the people" for the NEW CITY HALL!
Thanks, fellow tax payers, and toothless watchmen of our government as even the State Supreme Court determined the overwhelming number of signatures petitioning for the right for a vote of Las Vegas taxpayers before our monies could be used for a nameplate for certain elected CLV persons was denied!
Knowing the 'understood' function of elected officials and their hired staff is to gather by whatever revised Ordinance means, to abscond w/more taxpayer $ to announce at a 'news' conf. "Look, at how we spent your money, now pay for admission!
Please find the answer to:
Where do residents participating in LVCity Council agenda items, or LV Planning Commission, or LV Redevelopment Meetings park for free at THE NEW CITY HALL? As of 2/15/12, City Clerk does not have such info. Certainly we will not have to pay for parking to participate in our city government.
Appreciated will be any help--in publicizing BEFORE the damage, not just announcing such.
