Video: Left-wing ralliers unwilling to answer simple questions

With only a couple of exceptions, as you'll see for yourself.

It's a long video, but I wanted to give an accurate representation of how ralliers on the Left responded — or most often, didn't respond — to questions like "Can I ask you a couple of questions?" or "What do you think of cap and trade?"

All the video is from outside of Sen. Harry Reid's Clean Energy Summit on August 10, so the question about cap and trade is especially pertinent. Here is the op-ed by Speaker Pelosi and Rep. Hoyer that is referenced in the video, in which they wrote that, "Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American."

As I showed in a video I posted Monday, a similar-sized rally was held in opposition to cap and trade and Obamacare. Unlike this rally, those supporting freedom were quite eager to let me (and you) know what they thought of both cap and trade and Obamacare.

They didn't just talk to me, either. There was a film crew from Green Street TV (I'm not 100 percent sure on that name, but something like that) in bright green shirts, and I saw them interview several people from the rally opposing cap and trade and Obamacare. I also saw one woman proactively ask to be put on their camera.

So was this leftist rally as "phony" as Astroturf?

Here's the freedom rally for comparison.

OK OK ,,, very good spin.

There were 2 men there that tried to get people not to talk to you and you made them look silly.

Don't know if the people running interference made a mistake or not. You may have gotten more ammo for your spin from people that were there because they wanted to be but weren't versed on the issues well. Kinda like some one at a healthcare debate in Pennsylvania asking Senator Spector who has been a democrat for a few weeks if he has read the Koran.

The truth is that the people there would have spoken with you if your escort wasn't there. The truth may also be you would have spun your video to what you wanted to show.

I really liked seeing the diversity of the people you are working so hard against.

I'll take my people over yours any day. They looked for the most part happy , respectful and glad to be Americans. Real Americans.

Victor - this is brilliant. I love RSNelson's comments...apparently everyone on the side with the nicely printed, matching, union funded t-shirt wearing and sign waving side won't get paid unless they listen to those two guys. And the "Real Americans" he mentions were about 50% illegal alien, I'm just guessing from their lack of English skills.

The one that told you to leave for being intimidating? I know him from the caucus process, worked for the Nevada Democrat Party then when I worked for the NV Rep. Party. Nice guy, clearly intimidated by your overwhelming stature.

I am so proud of those great Americans on the side of reason and honesty - those opposed to Cap and Tax and non-Health Care Reform. If you know your facts and have faith in your principles, you don't need a script or some goons telling you what to say.

Although the lady who said we need to talk seemed really, really nice...I wish someone would invite her over to the good side with some cookies or something.

Keep up the good work - this should be on all the news stations by the way. Excellent job.

Heather says

Nuff said Victor your followers are racist.

Heather shows us once again what I have been telling you. She wants the nice white lady to come over to your side and the off white people with accents deported from her america.

This is what the fringe right is all about us vs. them and my people are about we. Not red states and blue states, The United States of America.

I love my President.

God Bless America!

Thanks Heather! I really appreciate it.

Nelson - Please do not make malicious and false attacks against other individuals. Not only is it rude and wrong, you should know better.

Also, Heather nevers mentions race. You bring it up. Why does race matter to you so much?

And as an aside the older lady with the "Let's Talk" sign was very nice. I really enjoyed talking to her. She has my card and I hope she gives me a call. You can still have a good conversation with someone, even if you disagree on a political level.

For anyone reading these comments, note how Nelson is using race as a weapon here. Instead of engaging on an intellictual issue - cap and trade, the merits of talking vs. not talking to a person with a camera, the merits of the different rallies - he's (personally) attacking someone he doesn't agree with in order to try and discredit them.

I hope Nelson can some day see the error of personal attacks, but until then this is a good example of someone attacking the messenger to avoid engaging on an intellectual level.

Heather attacked people in your spin of a video for "their lack of English skills" and saying that they were "illegal alien".

That my friend is right here in black and white, pun intended.

My children's grandparents speak with an accent and have what some might say is low english skills and they are Americans thank you very much.

I would say that saying someone is a illegal alien is a personal attack.

So my friend your friend put out a personal attack on people she did not even know.

I just call em like I see em, intellectually of course.

God bless our President as he leads us to a better union.

As far as the people talking or not talking to you as you cruised through the crowd of proud Americans out in support of their Senator we both know that there were just 3 men there that tried to get people not to talk to you. Most people would have spoken to you not knowing you were there to spin what they had to say for your friends on the fringe right.

I enjoyed the morning there at the rallies and am glad to be able to speak here on your blog as a first hand witness to what went on.

The fact is that the ethnic differences of the two rallies were obvious.

I love the America that I learned about in public school in Nebraska. The melting pot.

I love my country and my President.
